2021 Bryant Virtual Lunar New Year Celebration

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration: The celebration consists of a week-long Chinese culture exhibit with a specific theme every year through a collaboration with Chinese partner institutions, scholar presentations, art performances, and the tradition of tasting of moon cakes and tea.
In 2020, a series of online activities will be organized in October with the theme of 2020 International Harvest Celebrations as below:
- Mooncake Tasting at Salmanson and Gulski
Thursday, October 1
Mooncakes with various flavors will be served at Salmanson as dessert to offer students a taste of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Wednesday, October 7 @ 10am
Bryant international students and multicultural students will share their traditions of the fall harvest as well daily life through their videos. Participants can play Kahoot games on international harvest celebration traditions and win prizes.
Wednesday, October 7 @7:30pm
Learn about Asian Mid-Autumn Festival traditions with Bryant Chinese students. Participants will also be invited to share food stories and traditions related to their own fall holidays.

In this webinar presentation Dr. Xinyi Liu, Associate Professor of Archaeology, University of Washington in St. Louis, will address questions such as how plant and animal domestication developed in the context of human production and consumption, and how those early food traditions and cultural customs spread to new environments in a global context.
Friday, October 9 @ 7:00pm
Students and teachers from School of Arts and Communication at China University of Geosciences present a virtual performance show with singing, dancing, and music instrument to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and Confucius Institute Day.

Confucius Institute Day: Usually on the 4th Saturday of September, the birthday of the Confucius, we celebrate the special day by inviting the community to the art exhibit, culture craft-making activities, and performances.
