Coyle & Cassidy High School School

An official agreemet was signed in November 2013 to establish Coyle and Cassidy High School, located in Taunton, MA as an official Confucius Classroom (CC). It hosted its CC Dedication on Thursday, November 15, 2014th where members of its community of parents and admistrators attended the celebration.

Program Mission: 
The mission at Coyle and Cassidy High School (CCHS) is to develop an outstanding Mandarin Chinese language program as well as cultural opportunities for its students. Currently, the school offers Mandarin Chinese I, II, and III. The mission is to offer a fourth year of Mandarin Chinese in the 2014-15 school year, in order to have comprehensive Mandarin Chinese I, II, III, and IV.


Program Content:

1)      Provide Chinese Classes
CCHS will continue to provide Chinese classes in the school, and it will also offer classes to the two collaborating schools in the district. CCHS will work with administrators at Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River and the Taunton Catholic Middle School to provide opportunities to experience Chinese culture.

2)      Organize field trips for experiencing Chinese culture
The students will have multiple opportunities to go on field trips that will enhance their overall cultural experience of Chinese. Such field trips include a trip to Chinatown in Boston, a Chinese Tea Party, and a Chinese New Year Celebration, etc.

3)      Welcome Touring, Visiting, and Exchange Programs
CCHS will collaborate with Hanban for the programs to increase the quality and quantity of Chinese cultural exchange to interested community members, students and teachers.
