Explore New England Summer Program

Bryant international and domestic students are invited to join field trips to visit local museums and scenic sites, for learning a bit of American history and culture, as well as enjoying the natural beauty of New England in the summer! Transportation, admission tickets, and lunch will be covered by International Affairs.

The four trip destinations of the Explore New England Summer Program are:

mystic seaport

Explore American maritime history as you climb aboard historic vessels, stroll through a 19th century village created from historic buildings relocated there from throughout New England, view first-class exhibits, and more.


PEM: a top-ranked museum of historical and cultural African, American, Native American, Asian, Maritime, and Oceanic art, and more. 

Witch Museum: learn the true story of the Salem witch trials of 1692 and of witch-hunts and witchcraft from the fifteenth century into the modern-day. 


Visit Marble House, a social and architectural landmark that set the pace for Newport's transformation to a legendary resort of opulent stone palaces. From there, explore the world-famous Cliff Walk that combines the natural beauty of Newport's shoreline with the architectural history of the city's Gilded Age.


Explore the history of the original 17th century Plymouth Colony settlement, established by the “Pilgrims,” as well as that of the Patuxet people upon whose land the Pilgrims settled. Tour includes a visit aboard the replica of the famous historic Mayflower ship, docked near Plymouth Rock.

Program Fee: $150/ student ($120/sibling)

Program Highlights: 
· Customized curriculum based on the National Standards of Foreign Language Education.
· Language classes are conducted through carefully designed student-centered activities and games.
· Small classes to accommodate students at different proficiency levels.
· A variety of culturally enriched presentations and workshops with hands-on activities led by guest presenters
· Classes are led by local professional language teachers with extensive experience in teaching Chinese to K-12 students.

· An essay on “Why I Want to Participate in the Virtual Chinese Summer Camp for Youth”
· A check for the program fee, $150/student ($120/sibling), payable to “Bryant University”
